The KF3 produced an exciting final, rich in emotion. Carlos Sainz (Tony Kart / Vortex) took control of the race from the lights from the dominant Danil Kvyat (Tony Kart / Vortex). Raffaele Marciello (Intrepid / TM) was in 3rd position, ahead of Nyck De Vries (Zanardi / Parilla). Marciello started looking at second place, which he gained on the 3rd lap. Kvyat dropped back to 7th place. Seeing the turn of events, De Vries stepped up an unstoppable attack on Marciello and stole an excellent second place.
Kvyat fought back and managed to quickly dispatch Menezes and Fioravanti. Alexander Albon (Tony Kart / TM) was thinking of taking Marciello’s place, but couldn’t make it work this time, or on another attempt slightly later on, then Albon went off onto the Lombard grass. Perhaps King would be able to wash out the insult? With his Maranello / Maxter, he took the opportunity to put his nose into 3rd place.
Nyck De Vries knew that the end of the race was close and it was undoubtedly time to try something. Why not some overtaking? Good idea, it worked, and he was ahead on the 11th lap. Sainz was reasonably satisfied with his position and didn’t try to force his way past. The wily King was as aggressive as a wolf and attacked Sainz. The Spaniard reacted to the threat on the last lap. A victory for “Picolonic”, as the speaker said (Tkart’s Yanek), Sainz was second and King was 3rd. Kvyat was 4th by a second.
