Even on the starting grid of the OK-Junior Final, the weather showed its versatile side. Sun and a few drops, and the start was given as usual. The karts went off on slicks on a slippery track, but it dried quickly.
David Vidales (Tony Kart / Vortex) led the the opening of the race from Kiern Jewiss (Exprit / Vortex) while slips and slides changed the rankings several times per lap. Isac Blomqvist (Tony Kart / Vortex) took command on lap 5 ahead of Dmitrii Bogdanov (FA Kart / Vortex) and Fin Kenneally (FA Kart / Vortex) took 5th ahead of Caio Collet (Birel ART / Parilla) and Adam Eteki (Tony Kart / Vortex), who started last, standing out in 7th place. Dennis Hauger (CRG / Parilla) dropped to 10th position ahead of Ulysses De Pauw (Birel ART / Parilla), Noah Watt (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Sami Taoufik (FA Kart / Vortex) in 13th and 14th positions, followed by Theo Pourchaire (Kosmic / Vortex) and Charles Milesi (Tony Kart / Vortex) who lost out a lot in the early laps, with Victor Martins (Kosmic / Parilla) in 19th.
The pace accelerated as the laps went on and Vidales closed up o the leader at five laps from the end and returned to the lead on the following lap. Hauger’s recovery followed, 6th with the fastest lap and already with De Pauw on his heels. Vidales flew to victory and Jewiss retook 2nd in front of Blomqvist and Bogdanov. The battle for 5th was epic and it was Collet making charges, De Pauw managing to finish 5th ahead of Hauger, the fastest, Taoufik in 10th, Pourchaire 11th, Eteki 12th, Watt 16th, Martins 17th …
