The Qualifying sessions of the KZ2 European Championship proved complex to manage on Saturday morning using rain tyres because of the limited grip of the track at Essay, which could be described as wet or greasy, but also by different rhythms adopted by the participants which sometimes caused some discomfort. Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex / Baby Race) set the fastest time in the first session – 56”773 – which remained the pole for the class ahead of Stan Pex (CRG / Vortex / CRG Holland) and Fabian Federer (CRG / Modena / SRP Racing Team). Dylan Davies (CRG / TM / Keijzer Racing) was the fastest of the second session – 56”789 – ahead of Nicolas Gonzales (Sodi / TM / CPB Sport ) and Alexander Dahlberg (Tony Kart / Vortex / Ward Racing).
The small difference between the sessions didn’t justify an alternate classification and the final positions are an accurate reflection of performance. Lorandi is the poleman, Davies 2nd, Pex 3rd, Federer 4th and Gonzales 5th. 7th position for Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex) ahead of Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / Vortex), Alessio Piccini (Tony Kart / Vortex) 10th, Geoffrey Jamin (Tony Kart / Vortex) well positioned in 12th place, Pierre Loubère (Sodi / TM) 14th ahead of Alexander Schmitz (Tony Kart / Vortex).
