Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / Maxter) made a perfect start that placed him ahead of the race from the first corner ahead of Simo Puhakka (PCR / TM). But Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) made an even better start to quickly be in the wake of Abbasse. Thomas Mich (Birel / TM) was in the right kart and quickly closed on the third placed Puhakka, Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex), and Ken Allemann (Birel / TM). After of a great start, Tony Lavanant (Energy / TM), was already 9th after starting 26th behind the dreaded local driver Matt Jaskol (Intrepid / TM).
Gary Carlton (CRG / Maxter) did not make a good start, but after that whipped up a storm. Ardigo couldn’t quite pass Abbasse, but we could already see that the Tony was very comfortable in the race. Dreezen quickly went after Puhakka for 4th place. Before mid-race, Ardigo set up an attack on Abbasse and took the lead. Abbasse tried anything to stay in contact, but the Tony seemed glued to the track, as evidenced by Dreezen passing Mich on the same lap.
Brazilian Felipe Fraga CRG / Maxter was in 6th place while firmly resisting attacks from Jaskol, Lavanant and Carlton. It would come to an end, but not for a while. Meanwhile, Puhakka gained back ground on Mich and moved to 4th. Abbasse attacked and almost took Dreezen in the ranking of the race.
Victory for the Tony Boys, Ardigo and Dreezen, 3rd place for Abbasse, Puhakka 4th, Mich 5th, Carlton, annoyed, in 6th, Lavanant, happy, in 7th before Jaskol, Allemann and Alex Speed.
