The weather was much nicer on Sunday morning in Genk for the last three qualifying rounds of the FIA Karting European Championship – Junior. No rain, some sunshine and a completely dry track. However, the races were lively and there were many penalties that affected the overall results. Spoilers were not the only cause, as several penalties were imposed for illegal manoeuvres.
Ean Eyckmans (Kosmic/Vortex) finally retained 1st place after a hard-fought final heat. Freddie Slater (Kosmic/Vortex) followed him in 2nd place ahead of Akshay Bohra (KR/Iame). Luka Sammalisto (KR/Iame) took 4th place followed by Matheus Ferreira (KR/Iame) who moved up 13 places from the time trials. Dion Gowda (Kosmic/Vortex) was 6th ahead of his teammate Maxim Rehm (Kosmic/Vortex), while James Egozi (Tony Kart/Vortex) 8th confirmed the competitiveness of the OTK chassis with Vortex engines. Alex Powell (KR/Iame) and Yuanpu Cui (KR/Iame) completed the top 10.
Maxens Verbrugge (Kosmic/Vortex) qualified in 16th position, followed by Enzo Deligny (Parolin/TM), Jules Caranta (KR/Iame) was 30th, Arthur Poulain (Kosmic/Vortex) 34th and Augustin Bernier (KR/Iame) 35th.
