On the fast Laval circuit, were several World and European karting champions raced in the 1980s-90s, Andrick Zeen showed his best performance in the KF2 international category. After a brilliant 4th place finish in Saturday's race, the Californian from Sodi Racing Team further improved his score on Sunday and climbed on the third step of the podium during the last round of the GPO series. A fantastic result, which allowed him to enter the top 10 of the French Championship.

GPO races, which are part of the international calendar and integrate the French KF2 Championship, attract many of the best European drivers. The level was particularly high throughout the 2010 season and as a consequence, races were always very hard fought. During the year, Andrick Zeen managed to find his place in the pack, so much so that he even battled against the best drivers at the end of the season, as he himself explained:

"I have been racing regularly in Europe for two years now and I am reaping the fruits of my work and my investment. In particular, I had the opportunity to race in Endurance events, with a programme that includes the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is a discipline that allows you to drive a lot and to learn how to listen to you kart mechanics. I was also at the KF2 and U18 World Championships. I also benefited from the support and advice by the Sodi Racing Team, which prepares every race with great professionalism. Parilla engines also contributed to improving my level of performance thanks to the evolutions brought about in 2010. All these elements combined explain my constant progress".

Fully confident after his podium at the 6 Hours of Soucy, his 9th place in the U18 World Championship in Val d'Argenton and a 6th place at the last GPO in Ostricourt, Andrick Zeen began his weekend with a fantastic recovery from 16th to 6th during Saturday's pre-final. "Some areas of the track were still wet during timed qualifying and it was hard to find the right grip, but afterwards I recovered well. What really pleases me is that I also posted the best lap time in the race during this pre-final". Andrick Zeen did not hesitate to wage war against his rivals in full fight for the title of French Champion, kept his momentum and was 4th in the final.

On Sunday, at the last race of the GPO series, the pre-final proved to be more difficult this time and he finished 13th. "Luckily, I got an excellent start at the final. I was feeling great and I kept pushing as hard as I could". He took the lead of the chasing pack after a series of passes and passed the finish line third, not far from his team mate Alex Baron. His first GPO podium could not come at a better moment, just a few days before his return to the US for the prestigious Super Nationals in Las Vegas…
