FFSA Academy - Championnat de France - Magny-Cours (Auto)

Gathered at the Circuit of Nevers at Magny-Cours, the young talents of the French F4 Championship created a beautiful spectacle on their return to the track. The fifth round of the season has totally upset the overall standings, notably with the rise of Charles Milesi.

The drivers of the French F4 Championship have made their comeback on the famous track of Nevers for the fifth meeting of the year. The weather did not made things easier for these young drivers. Indeed, after Qualifying on a wet track, all took part in Race 1 on a track that very quickly dried. Races 2 and 3 took place on a fully dry track. Stuart White, in uncertain conditions, managed to take pole while Victor Martins achieved the fastest second time which allowed him to start first in Race 1.

This first race was marked by Marvin Klein's first victory this season, which gained him four places in the overall standings and to join the top 10. Victor Martins, in 2nd place, did not make the task easy but Marvin managed to pass his rivals one by one. Finally, Charles Milesi, who could not take part in the meeting at Spa-Francorchamps, recovered very well with 3rd place.

In the second race, no one could have bet on the podium as none of the drivers on the first and second rows managed to stay at the front. Stuart White, who seemed to enjoy the track from the beginning of the weekend, confirmed by winning this round. Charles Milesi climbed rapidly during the course of the race and managed to get 2nd place after starting 8th on the grid. Finally, Hugo Chevalier showed what he was capable of by taking 3rd place which he defended very well. Arthur Rougier, the current leader of the Championship, intelligently kept himself in the top five in order to maintain his lead in the standings.

The final race on Sunday, 10th September was rather quiet but the result was not predictable. Charles Milesi, very gradually, conducted his meeting to celebrate his first victory in Race 3. Victor Martins and Stuart White both celebrated their second podium of the weekend. Noah Watt's performance was also impressive with his 11th place in the three races.

Arthur Rougier retains the leadership at the end of the weekend but thanks to his good results, Victor Martins has closed up a little to 28 points behind. The top three has also evolved as Charles Milesi has taken 3rd place following his good performances. However, nothing is decided yet as there are two meetings left and Pierre-Alexandre Jean is just behind by eight points.

Stuart White, too, has closed on his rivals in front with 104 points. Christian Muñoz, Florian Venturi and Marvin Klein are very close. Hugo Chevalier and Jean-Baptiste Mela complete the top 10 after this weekend at Magny-Cours. Pierre-Louis Chovet, who will be present at the next two meetings to prepare for his 2018 season, will be heartened by his encouraging start. The young hopefuls of the French F4 Championship will be out in less than three weeks (29th September - 1st October) on the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit for a prestigious new cross-border journey, following Monza and Spa-Francorchamps.
