Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex) was comfortably in 1st place in the first qualifying session for KF ahead of Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / TM) and Niko Kari (Tony Kart / Vortex). Daruvala improved his reference time, Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic / Vortex) was back in the top three ahead of Moritz Horn (Energy / TM), but Egor Stupenkov (Energy / TM) was then shown in fourth position ahead of his teammate. Lorandi got closer to Daruvala’s time. Then Callum Ilott (Zanardi / Parilla) accelerated and moved into fourth. The times continued to go down for everyone. Daruvala remained fastest with 1’06” 637”, 0.123 faster than Nielsen, and Lorandi finished 3rd by 0.179” from the leader, and Karol Basz (Tony Kart / Vortex) was 4th more than 3 tenths ahead of Ilott and Kari.
Antonio Romanucci (Tony Kart / TM) was in the lead for a long time in the second group before being dislodged by Alexey Korneev (Tony Kart / Vortex), but the real fun began when Ollie Norris ( FA Kart / Vortex) arrived at the top of the table from Gianni Vigorito (Exprit / TM). Then Maxim Kim took the lead, and then Sidney Gomez (CRG / TM). Kim responded and Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) moved into the top four on the penultimate lap. The gaps are extremely small as Kim set a lap of 1’07” 285, 6 thousandths faster than Gomez, Ollie Norris ended up 31 mils behind with Lando at 64 mils. Vigorito was 5th by 0.179”.
He was far off the pole time set by Daruvala in the first group, by more than 6/10, which put Kim in 19th. Nielsen therefore remains second, Lorandi third and so on with the top 18 from group 1.
