15/05/12 Exciting GPO Under the Sun of Angerville
GPO Karting - Grand Prix Open Karting - Angerville

In KF2, there was an intense duel between Leclerc and Moineault, with Compère and then Bailly as outsiders; in KZ2 Fiault was dominant on Saturday and Roy on Sunday, while in the KF3 class, victory was a matter between Besancenez and Ilott. The Angerville GPO was most definitely a sporting success, blessed with bright sunny weather during the two days of the meeting.

KF2: Leclerc and Moineault Compete for the Spotlight
Poleman in Saturday's timed qualifying, Charles Leclerc (ART GP/Parilla) could not be in the pre-final owing to an airbox problem. 2nd in timed qualifying, Valentin Moineault (Tony Kart/Vortex) won pre-final 1 and crossed the finish line of Final 1 as the winner, before moving 5 places down the order for a penalty, thus leaving victory to Leclerc. The latter won Final 2 on Sunday after a hard-fought battle. The poleman Moineault proved to be a formidable finisher with his two second places. Victor Compère (Kosmic/Vortex) had an excellent first day with a third place finish in timed qualifying, a victory in pre-final 1 and a second place in Final 1. The Belgian Sébastien Bailly (Swiss Hutless/TM) drove his kart excellently and thanks to his steadier performances on Sunday, he was able to win the second pre-final and to climb onto the podium of Final 2. Paul Boutonnet (Tony Kart/Parilla) repeated his speed performance and took the third step on Saturday, in addition to being 4th in Sunday's Final 2.

Roy Reinforces His Leadership in KZ2
Charles Fiault (Sodi/Maxter) showed again his high performance level on Saturday by winning pre-final 1 and then Final 1. Maxime Roy (Tony Kart/TM) took two excellent second places in the two races. He consolidated his leadership position in the French KZ2 Championship by winning everything on the second day. Julien Poncelet (ART GP/TM) pushed his kart to the max with an energy that added to the intensity of the races, monopolising second places in the race on Sunday. As for Laurent Marchandise (CRG/Maxter), he lived up to expectations on his GPO debut with a nice third place in Final 1.

Besancenez Takes the Lead of the French KF3 Championship
Paolo Besancenez (Sodi/Parilla) left nothing to his rivals by winning pre-final 1 and Final 1 on Saturday. 3rd in Sunday's pre-final 2, he lost his chances at the start of Final 2, but concluded the weekend in the lead of the French Championship. The Briton Callum Ilott (Zanardi/Parilla) won the pole position and took an interesting second place in pre-final 1, but after being involved in a serious collision at the start of Final 1, he was not able to defend his chances on Saturday. His winning march was unstoppable the following day. After taking another pole position in timed qualifying and a victory in Final 2, he also added the second pre-final to his roll of honour after a penalty inflicted to Gautier Becq. The Belgian driver Romain De Leval (Kosmic/Parilla) was good at making the best of the two finals by concluding each time as high as second place. Gabriel Aubry (Birel/TM) completed the podium of Final 1 after a very positive Saturday and further increased his pace on Sunday. Jules Bollier (Kosmic/Parilla) took the third step of the podium on Sunday, showing that now his competitiveness at this level has improved.
