WSK-Champions-Cup-2015-2.jpg

Just as in KF, the 60 Mini drivers have completed their three qualifying heats. Dennis Hauger (CRG / LKE) is ahead of the other two winners of the day: Leonardo Marseglia (CRG / LKE) and Giuseppe Fusco (Lenzo / LKE). Marzio Moretti (Tony Kart / LKE) took 4th place a few lengths ahead in terms of points, followed by Mattia Michelotto (Top Kart / Parilla). Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart / LKE) could still recover and has moved up to 18th place.

Twice victorious in the rain, Karol Basz (Kosmic / Vortex) took the measure of his opponents in the intermediate classification in KF. Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) preserved his 2nd place against Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex), who was most at ease when the track was wet. Max Fewtrell (FA Kart / Vortex) kept the pace in fourth position, but the score is already 20 points for the fifth, Richard Verschoor (Exprit / Vortex), who was 11th fastest in qualifying. Egor Stupenkov (Tony Kart / Vortex) is in 9th position after 22nd in qualifying, despite problems in heat 2. Conversely, Tom Bale (FA Kart / Vortex) who was 2nd in qualifying and Alexander Vartanyan (Tony Kart / Vortex) who was 3rd , are only in 11th and 13th. François Becamel (Kosmic / Parilla) is in 21st place.

Karol Basz (Kosmic / Vortex) retained control of the 3rd qualifying heat in KF from the start, while the La Conca track was still very wet. Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) remained stable in the 2nd and 3rd positions. With his spoiler down from a first lap crash at the hairpin, Martijn Van Leeuwen (CRG / TM) had to return to the pits. There was a big rise for Casper Andersen Roes (FA Kart / Vortex) in the top 10. Max Fewtrell (FA Kart / Vortex) got the measure of Juri Vips (FA Kart / Vortex) for 4th place, especially as the Estonian driver had a dropped spoiler, which should earn him a 30'' penalty upon arrival. François Becamel (Kosmic / Parilla) made a stunning recovery to 11th.

Lorandi increased the pace for 3 laps and closed up to Basz, but the Pole had the resources necessary and stayed significantly ahead of the Italian, however he set the fastest time. Nielsen finished 3rd in front of Fewtrell. Egor Stupenkov (Tony Kart / Vortex) passed Vips for 5th place.

It was pouring rain when the 24 KF drivers went out for their second qualifying heat. Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex) immediately took the advantage from Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) and seized control of the race from the third lap. The battle raged between Karol Basz (Kosmic / Vortex) and Max Fewtrell (FA Kart / Vortex) for 3rd place. While he was back with the leader, Nielsen dropped to 5th at halfway, and Richard Verschoor (Exprit / Vortex) took fourth position. Held up early in the race, Egor Stupenkov (Tony Kart / Vortex) was going like hell. There was also an impressive recovery for Juri Vips (FA Kart / Vortex). Basz was increasingly pressing Lorandi and braking late to attack at the hairpin on lap 11. Nielsen attempted an inside line take Verschoor on the last lap, causing a spray of water from the edge of the track over the young Dutchman, who fortunately remained in 5th position ahead of Vips. Victory went to Basz ahead of Lorandi, Fewtrell was 3rd and Nielsen 4th. Stupenkov rebounded to 13th with the fastest time, after dropping to last on the first lap. François Becamel (Kosmic / Parilla), although he started well, had to retire because of his spoiler.
