SODIKART - Press release n°1

01/04/11 Varennes GPO: Sodi Holds the Monopoly of Victories!
SODIKART - Grand Prix Open Karting - Varennes / Allier

One month away from the European qualifications on the same Varennes circuit, Sodi chassis literally conquered the monopoly of victories in KF2 and KF3 at the opening meeting of the French Championship 2011. Members of Sodi Racing Team or Sodi Junior Team, Paolo Besancenez and Valentin Moineault won the finals in KF3, while Alex Baron and Léo Roussel achieved the same result in KF2, thus allowing Sodi to largely take the lead of Constructors' Championships.

The Varennes GPO does not simply mark the debut of the French Championship 2011. It is an opportunity to get ready at best for the qualifying round of the European KF2 & KF3 Championships. Sodi drivers faced the best French drivers - as well as very a group of determined foreign drivers who came on purpose to prepare this key event - and emerged brilliantly in the two categories, triumphing at each of the finals of the weekend! And victories did not come just from the official team, since drivers from the new Junior Team also exploited the full potential of their Parilla engines and made it to the highest step of the podium. After a 2010 season that finished with a bang, and despite the different tyre make (Vega in 2011), the Sodi boys started well on an impressive pace.

Podium-KF2.jpgWith his 2nd best time in Saturday's KF3 time qualifying, young Paolo Besancenez, who has just arrived from the Cadet category, recovered ground in the lead pack during the final and perfectly managed his race, by attacking on the last bends and conquering his first victory in KF3. Soon afterwards, Alex Baron, on the attack, won in KF2 after overtaking ...another Sodi on the last lap!

The following day, Valentin Moineault was the absolute dominator of KF3 from time qualifying to the final race, while Besancenez set the best lap time of the race. In KF2, Léo Roussel constantly improved his performances and reached his top level in the final, where he dominated the race from the beginning to the end and concluded relentlessly with a victory.

Thanks to these impressive results, Sodi is already the leader of the French Constructors' Championship in KF2 as well as of the combined classification of the GPO categories. Sodi thanked and congratulated all the teams (Ludo Racing & Win Max Racing Kart in particular), drivers and technicians on their contribution to this brilliant achievement.

But besides GPOs, after the numerous successes in all the categories at the start of this season and regardless of the teams, drivers, engines, circuits, tyres used, and weather conditions involved, one must admit that the new SODI TTT chassis have showed top performances and are ready to do battle at next regional, national and international meetings!
