The OK Final of the first round of the FIA European Junior Karting Championship in Valencia benefited from good weather, with an increasingly strong wind and almost 25°. Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame) was joined on the first row of the grid by Rene Lammers (Parolin/TM), ahead of Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM) and Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart/Vortex), followed by Alex Powell (KR/Iame) and Joe Turney (KR/Iame) on the third.
Arthur Poulain (Tony Kart/Vortex) was slightly hit by David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex) and slid out of the first corner. Gomez was leading ahead of Przyrowski and Turney. Lammers had no chance to make a difference from the outside. Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart/Vortex) made a great start to the race and was in the top five (+11 pl). Przyrowski and Turney put pressure on Gomez. Turney moved up to 2nd on lap 5. Malo Bolliet (KR/Iame) was fighting for 20th place, Jules Caranta (Energy/TM) was 27th before retiring. On lap 6, Turney attacked Gomez who defended himself, Przyrowski moved up to 2nd ahead of the Brazilian and Lammers closed in on the leading trio. At the halfway point Powell was in 5th place ahead of Stolcermanis, Coluccio, Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM), Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin/TM) and Walther in the top 10. Turney and Przyrowski were about 8 tenths faster than Lammers, Gomez was 4th, followed by Powell. A missed attack slowed the Jamaican slightly. Turney was on his way to a landmark victory with his new KR Motorsport team. He was more than a second ahead of Przyrowski of the Tony Kart Racing Team. Lammers took a fine 3th place for Parolin Motorsport. Gomez was unable to improve on his 4th place position when Powell put pressure on his wheels. The only Frenchman to finish the race, Bolliet was 25th.
