For its 14th season, the 2023 FIA Karting Academy Trophy is set to bring together 47 drivers and 46 nations in search of international recognition. Two new countries joins the FIA Karting one-design formula, Angola and Georgia. There is a marked increase in female participation, with five young girls registered for this mixed competition.
The FIA Karting Academy Trophy is a formula unique in the world, oriented towards the training and detection of young talents competing on equal terms. Drivers aged 12 to 14 represent their country at the wheel of one-design karts drawn at random, OTK chassis with Vortex engines from the OK-Junior category, equipped with Vega tyres. OMP (Racing Force) is the sole supplier of the race suits for the drivers participating in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy, as well as the clothing for their mechanics.
The FIA Karting Academy Trophy will visit three European countries this season: the Czech Republic, Denmark and Italy, in conjunction with the FIA Karting European Championships – OK and OK-Junior.
Round 1: 18-21 May 2023, T?inec, Czech Republic
Event 2: 15-18 June 2023, Rødby, Denmark
Event 3: 27-30 July 2023, Cremona, Italy
Over the years, the Academy Trophy has proved its relevance by revealing drivers such as Charles Leclerc, Esteban Ocon and George Russell who are now shining in Formula 1.
The Lithuanian Markas Silkunas and the Bulgarian Aleksandar Deshkov are the only ones to participate for the second time in this competition, all the others are rookies.
