After his first season in Italy last year in the international Mini Gr.3 category, the young Franco-American Alessandro Truchot continues his European apprenticeship with Parolin Motorsport in 2023. A new regulation is allowing him to shine in the Mini U10 class and to reinforce his experience of leading races with very positive results.
Alessandro first took the wheel in the USA in mid-January in the SKUSA Winter Series where he moved up to the top category in the Mini Swift. In his first weekend on the Homestead Miami circuit he took the lead with a pole position and a podium in both rounds and was top of the provisional ranking.
He then hurried across the Atlantic to the Lonato circuit in Italy and the Parolin Motorsport team. During the WSK Champions Cup, he took his first steps in the Mini U10 class and was already showing an excellent pace in the top 10. Encouraged by this opening race, the following week he started the first round of the WSK Super Master Series with an even stronger field. The advice of his coach Lorenzo Travisanutto, multiple World Champion, helped him to continue his progression.
Alessandro opened this international competition with pole position and added two heat victories to his score to stay in the lead of the category. On Sunday morning, the Prefinal A did not go so well. He was the victim of an unconsidered attack at the start, lost several places and had to fight hard to cross the finish line in 8th place. A penalty sent him back to 17th position. Alessandro refocused for the Final and delivered a superb performance in the top five of the race. He was only 43 thousandths of a second away from taking 3rd position on the last lap.
Well placed in the provisional ranking of the WSK Super Master Series before the next round in Franciacorta from 16th to 19th February, Alessandro has the ambition to continue the encouraging evolution of the beginning of the season.
