The OK Super Heats of the fourth round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series took place on Sunday morning in sunny Franciacorta with the temperature rising to 26°.
Joe Turney (Tony Kart/Vortex) led from the start ahead of Maksim Orlov (Parolin/TM) who was already defending his position. Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM) moved up to 2nd and passed Turney to take the lead. Alex Powell (KR/Iame) was back in the top three at mid-race. Arthur Rogeon (KR/Iame) was 6th and Enzo Deligny (Parolin/TM) 8th. Leader of the ranking, Turney didn’t take any risks resisting Powell’s return to 2nd place. After a great battle, Deligny took the lead over Orlov and Rogeon. Powell threatened Stolcermanis at the end of the race, the two drivers were fighting for 3rd place in the Super Heats, but the Latvian won ahead of the Jamaican. Turney took 3rd place ahead of team-mates Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex) and James Egozi (Tony Kart/Vortex). Deligny held on to 6th place ahead of Orlov and Rogeon.
Freddie Slater (LN/Vortex) started on pole for the second Super Heat and held the advantage at the start against Kean Nakamura-Berta (KR/Iame) and Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart/Vortex) who were in the middle of a duel. Matheus Morgatto (KR/Iame) was 3rd followed by Caspian Hagman (Tony Kart/Vortex), Coluccio and Evan Giltaire (KR/Iame). The battle was fierce at the front between Slater and Nakamura-Berta who took the lead after five laps. Giltaire moved up to 3rd place ahead of Coluccio and Hagman. Nakmura was very fast and increased his lead as the laps went by. Giltaire was aiming at Slater’s 2nd place. Nakamura brilliantly won 1,7” ahead of Slater. Giltaire secured 3rd place 6 tenths ahead of Coluccio and Hagman. Eemeli Koivisto (Tony Kart/Vortex) fought hard to get back to 6th place.
