Finally, the German Kart Championship starts the new racing season with its five grade series. The start of the season will take place in Kerpen from August 7th to 9th. Nearly 140 drivers compete in the first races. The event takes place in compliance with a strict hygiene concept.
For a long time, the drivers and fans of German karting had to be patient, but now there was a green light for the start of the German Kart Championship. After the development of an extensive hygiene concept, the organizers have now officially gotten approval for the race.
DKM series coordinator Stefan Wagner is pleased with the positive news: “We have all waited a long time for the start of the season and are happy to have received the Go. The entire team has done a great job in developing the hygiene concept. We will inform all participants and officials about the guidelines shortly and will already point out that compliance with these requirements is absolutely necessary for a successful course of the event.”
Interest in the DKM is again pleasingly high in 2020. Despite the Corona pandemic and the associated shutdown, all categories are heavily staffed and promise challenging races again. The E-karts of the DEKM are also represented in the DKM framework program. For the drivers, the race weekend starts two days earlier with the official test days.
Unfortunately, the race takes place without the participation of spectators, but the karting fans do not have to fully abstain from the DKM. The race weekend will again be accompanied by extensive live coverage. On Saturday and Sunday, the entire race campaign will be streamed live on the online stream.
