“As some may already know, regrettably the governor of Louisiana forced us to terminate the SKUSA Pro Tour WinterNationals this afternoon as part of a nationwide mitigation effort of the recent Covid-19 pandemic.
We worked very hard with state and local authorities to see the event through to its completion, given the relative size and scale compared to larger sporting events. But unfortunately, they overruled us and forced the entire Nola Motorsports facility into immediate shutdown.
We empathize with everyone in the racing community right now, as all of motorsport has been turned upside-down by recent events. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this state directive and wish everyone safe travels back home.
SKUSA will be releasing a more comprehensive statement and news on any make up event(s) or rescheduling in the very near future. Rest assured, we will do everything possible to make this up to those affected by the decision.”
