The 20th edition of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals ended with the DD2 Final, raced in the hot Sarno sun, barely shaded by a veil of clouds. Petr Bezel (CZE) kept his lead, followed by Nicolas Picot (FRA), but Xen De Ruwe (SVN) immediately got into the action and took the lead on lap 2. With Luca Munaretto (ITA) in 4th position, the ingredients for an explosive cocktail were in place. Picot passed Bezel and De Ruwe successively to take the lead on lap 6. De Ruwe replied immediately. The duel continued with several lead changes as the battle raged in the pack. Xander Przybylak (BEL) came back to 4th ahead of Jakub Bezel (CZE). Picot controlled the race ahead of De Ruwe for several laps, then Petr Bezel finally passed De Ruwe on the lap 14. Behind him, the fight was a little beneficial to Picot who gained some distance before finding himself under threat from again Bezel with three laps to go. Picot tried to protect his place, but he had to give up the victory to Petr Bezel. De Ruwe finished 3rd, Sam Waddell (NZL) 4th and Jakub Bezel 5th.
