With Luca Munaretto (ITA – Birel ART) and Paolo Besancenez (FRA – Sodi) on the front row, the DD2 Prefinal of the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy looked heated. Claudio Pagliarani (ITA – Tony Kart) infiltrated in 2nd position at the start, but Besancenez recovered his rank before the end of the first lap. Meanwhile, Nicolas Picot (FRA – Tony Kart) jumped to 4th place ahead of Matthias Njeim (LBN – Birel ART). Besancenez nibbled away a hundredth after a hundredth to gradually return to the leader. He went on the attack and took the lead on the lap 4. With him Munaretto and Pagliarani formed a slightly detached trio. Munaretto did not leave Besancenez’s bumper, but Pagliarani was losing ground and Njeim overtook him for 3rd position. Besancenez conquered his rival Munaretto and won an important victory 2.5 tenths ahead. Three seconds later, Xander Przybylak (BEL – Tony Kart) finished 3rd and Dionisios Liveris (GRC – Tony Kart) 4e after the penalization of Njeim.
