The third round of the WSK Super Master Series started today in Muro Leccese and there are great expectations for a spectacular show. None of the current leaders of the four categories – KZ2, KF, KF Junior and 60 Mini – feels safe: everything is still at stake. The International Circuit La Conca is ready for the spring racing season: the 190 entrants are perfectly aware how sensitive their karts are to temperature variation. This is an aspect which already had its effect on today’s drivers’ performance: the final results are going to be unpredictable. The final phase of this third appointment will be available – as usual – live in streaming on the official website wsk.it.
De Conto leads in KZ2.
The Italian Paolo De Conto (CRG-Maxter-Vega), the fastest in KZ2 thanks to his 45″472, threw a challenge to the current leader of the standings, the Italian Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega). Ardigò set the fourth time, 103 milliseconds behind De Conto, while the English Jordon Lennox-Lamb (BirelArt-Parilla-Vega) occupies the second position with a gap of only 31 milliseconds, ahead of the Belgian Rick Dreezen (Ricciardo-Parilla-Vega).
Nielsen attacks in KF.
The Polish Karol Basz (Kosmic-Vortex-Vega), the leader of the KF category, is in pursuit of his main rival, the Danish Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega), who set the fastest time with 45″878. Basz is only seventh, while the English Max Fewtrell (FA-Vortex-Vega) and the Russian Alex Vartanyan (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) performed well and set the second and third time respectively.
Sargeant is closing the gap in KFJ.
Today’s top driver in KFJ was the American Logan Sargeant (FA-Vortex-Vega): thanks to his 46″865, he became the most dangerous rival for the English Clement Novalak (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega), the current leader. The Brit had some trouble and only managed to set poor times, which relegated him down in the ranking. Other underdogs made themselves conspicuous in this category: 2nd and 3rd time for the Danish drivers Christian Lundgaard (Tony Kart-Vortex) and Noah Watt (FA-Vortex) respectively.
Fusco is outstanding in 60 Mini.
In the free practice session of the 60 Mini, which has its qualifying scheduled for tomorrow, the Italian Giuseppe Fusco (Tony Kart-TM-Vega) was often the fastest. Together with him, the Norwegian Dennis Hauger (CRG-TM), the current leader of the category, and a new name, the Italian Federico Cecchi (Tony Kart-TM-Vega).
