There was a tumultuous start to the Senior prefinal, apparently due to excessive optimism on from Michael Cool who caught up Ralf Aron in his crash. The British drivers Joseph Reilly (Tony Kart – Strawberry Racing), Guan Yu Zhou (Tony Kart – Strawberry Racing) and Connor Jupp (FA Kart – Dan Holland Racing) took the top three spots on the first lap ahead of the Estonian Aaro Talvar (Tony Kart – Talvar Racing), Sweden’s Jessica Backman (Tony Kart – Strawberry Racing) and Briton Tom Grice (Tony Kart – Coles Racing). There was a big fight for 2nd place: Jupp tried his luck, but dropped to 4th, Talvar took advantage of the space to take third, while Reilly was already 7 tenths ahead. The Belgian Glenn Van Parijs (Tony Kart – Bouvin Power) took 5th place. Zhou and Talvar were back quickly on the leader. The winner of the repechage after a penalty in the heats, the British driver Jack Bartholomew (Tony Kart – KR Sport) moved into the top 10. Reilly controlled the race for a while but there was pressure behind from Zhou, and Talvar remained close in third position. But Zhou succeeded in his attack on lap 9 and Reilly replied which set off a furious battle at the start of the final lap with Jupp joining Talvar. There were actually seven competing for the podium on the line. Zhou finally won against Reilly, Jupp finished 3rd, Jessica Backman 4th ahead of Talvar. The top French driver was Kevin Petit (Sodi – Kart Racing Pro) in 18th, Eva Benes (Kosmic – PKS) was 19th, Nicolas Picot (Sodi – Kart Racing Pro) 22nd.
