The final three races in the 2013 ADAC Formula Masters series are run at Hockenhein this coming weekend. While Alessio Picariello has already gained an unassailable lead for Mücke Motorsport there is plenty of honour at stake in Germany. Red Bull Juniors Beitske Visser and Callan O’Keeffe are both out to make the most of the opportunity for their Motopark Academy team.
Visser has been getting quicker and quicker in recent weeks and while the 18-year-old Netherlander already has a 2013 victory to her name from the Sachsenring in June, a red flagged race in torrential rain, one or more wins at the Hockenheimring would give her more satisfaction. Getting on the podium in Race 3 at the Slovakia Ring last time out showed her every increasing pace and she will be seizing the opportunities offered this weekend.
“We already did some testing today (Thursday). In the first session I was P2 and in the second P5 so that’s pretty good and right now I would say that I like the track,” said Visser. “There are not many overtaking points, but two really good ones.”
With more track time on Friday morning before qualifying in the afternoon there is still time to improve the car. “The car is never perfect, we still have to look at today’s data and see what we will try in the practice tomorrow. It was raining this morning but it has dried up and should be dry for the rest of the weekend,” concluded Visser.
