For several races now, Max Defourny and his PCR/Parilla have been rubbing shoulders with the best international drivers in KF3. At the French round of the WSK Euro Series, Max raised the pace even more with great regularity and reached the lead places of this very hard fought competition. Very well placed in the intermediate classification, he lost all his chances after a collision on the first bend in pre-final B, which was fundamental to gain access to the final race. But the Belgian driver’s current performance level is very promising for the near future.
Thanks to the 4th fastest time in his group set in timed qualifying, Max gained access to the SuperPole – which gathers the 12 best drivers out of 58 entrants – for the very first time in his young career. A heavy downpour and unsuitable tyre pressure did not allow him to gain positions, despite the advantage he had by starting from the third line in the qualifying heats. Max withdrew on the first lap of the first race for an electrical problem, but then engaged in some exciting battles, which enabled him to conquer two 4th places in a row.
11th on grid of his pre-final, he had excellent chances of achieving his qualification the regular way. But rain came in the way on the first bend: he was pushed out of the track and got stuck in the gravel trap. One day, Max will be just a little bit luckier, and will be able to show what he is really capable of. That moment will come soon..
