Arnaud Kozlinski was unquestionably one of the protagonists of this 2012 World Cup for KZ1. He was regularly in the top 3 during the qualifying heats and took the second place in the pre-final, ready to deal the ultimate blow in the final race. His victory in the second heat with the fastest lap time set the tone and rewarded the Dutch team of its hard preparation work with a view to the showpiece event of the season. Unfortunately, a minor change in the set-up of his PCR/TM caused Kozlinski to lose some ground after leading the first two laps. The new layout of the Circuito Internazionale Napoli did not facilitate his attempt to return to the front of the race and he had to be satisfied with the 4th place.
But AVG Racing was very satisfied with the performances of its karts at Sarno. Starting far back with the 28th time, Simo Puhakka pushed hard to close the gap and ended in the top 10. In the meanwhile, in KZ2, Dylan Davies staged a remarkable recovery from 53rd in timed qualifying to 15th in the final after passing many of his rivals, on a track where overtaking opportunities are rare.
