As a sort of anticipation of the 2012 season, at Ortona Beitske Visser displayed again the orange and gold colours of the Intrepid make after a year in blue Praga. The WSK Final Cup was definitely not an easy task for the young Dutchwoman, who had to face a long series of problems. But it takes much more than that to tame her fighting spirit and she started the final phases with great determination, climbing up to 5th in a race where she faced the best international specialists.
The Ortona circuit is both a technical and stimulating track, with a bumpy surface and some tight chicanes, where it is necessary to know how to fly over thee kerbs in order to avoid damaging karts. She was first delayed by a transmission breakage during timed qualifying, which she concluded in 16th place just when she was heading to the top 5. Then she was bumped into at the start of the first heat and had to set off from the back of the pack, while she also suffered a mechanical problem in the last heat.
Behind the wheel of a new Intrepid chassis equipped with a TM-TecSav engine, Beitske made a good start in the pre-final and greatly narrowed her gap, moving up from 24th to 14th place. Same scenario and same attack in the final, despite another crash at the start, with a stunning recovery after an impressive series of passing manoeuvres up to the last lap, before she crossed the finish line in 5th place! Another remarkable, 100% Visser performance!
