In Siena, Sean Gelael scored his first points in the WSK Master Series classification. He was able to do it thanks to a remarkable performance in a half dry, half wet weather KF2 final race, during which the Indonesian driver showed an impressive effort given he started from the back of the grid. Unfortunately the red flag interrupted the race and he was stopped in full momentum in 11th place…
At ease during free practice, a bit less in the timed qualifying session in heavy heat, Sean performed solid qualifying heats, with a good pace and avoiding impacts. Very fast in the pre-final, Sean moved up from 17th to 10th when he suffered a small collision after an overtake, maybe for an excess of enthusiasm.
After this youthful mistake he was forced to retire, but he did not commit the same error in the final race.
32nd at the start, he had to face a major challenge on the last race. He started overtaking at a sustained pace, without wasting time or running unnecessary risks. When it began to rain on the Siena track, he became increasingly faster than his opponents, exploiting his slick tyres at best with the ability of an acrobat. He concluded this very positive weekend with his first points scored in the drivers’ championship and a big smile of satisfaction.
