Action-packed, entertaining, thrilling, extremely competitive–these are just a few words describing the 3rd Annual All-Stars Kart Race produced by Snap-On Stars of Karting at the 21st Annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show.
With noted race car drivers already signed up to compete, including 2004 Indy 500 champion Buddy Rice, NASCAR and former F1 driver and now an ARCA and NASCAR Truck Series star Scott Speed, 2008 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year Ryan Hunter-Reay, last year’s All-Stars Kart winner and one of open wheel racing’s top young talents Michael Valiante, French open wheel racer Nelson Philippe, ALMS star Bryan Herta, and NASCAR driver AJ Allmendinger, this will be a one-of-a-kind event that you won’t want to miss. More will be confirmed by the time you arrive in Orlando.
The karting spectacular will take place at 7 p.m., Thursday, December 11, on a specially built track adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center. The big kart race also helps put the spotlight on the rapidly growing number of kart supplier exhibits in the PRI Trade Show.
“It’s great to get such a wide variety of different types of drivers from so many different motorsports together to go do something like this to help promote go-karting and to have just a good, all-around fun time,” Rice said.
This race is split up into two divisions–the All-Stars “Masters” division for the professionals and a division for the best of the regular Stars of Karting racers, including top drivers such as Joel Miller, Gary Carlton, and David Jurca. “I’m sure the race will attract North America’s best in both TAG and shifter categories,” Carlton explained. “So it will make for a fun race with the mix of drivers that we usually don’t get to race with very often.”
The racers will compete on a technical six-turn track purpose-built for this occasion, which should make for an intense race. “The competition is always top notch, which can be seen from the past two races,” Miller stated. “This year will most likely be the same as the best karters show up as well as some of the best car drivers.”
