Three points in Vallelunga and a promise for the future
Tomas Pivoda has proved beyond doubt that he has ability to continue his promissing career in formula racing : the 16-year-old from Morawa finished his debut races in Italia Formula Master in 6th and 9th position respectively and left the « Autodromo Vallelunga » highly motived with 3 championship points in his pocket.
ADM’s team principal Renato Melchioretto praised his new Czech hopeful : « Tomas was the surprise of the weekend and his performance and speed for a rookie driver were above all expectations. In the first race he was battling with former Worls Series driver Carlos Iaconelli and in the second race he was temporarily even the quickest of all our pilots. Yes, he is a promise for the future and his maturity shows that karting drivers on the top level are well prepared for Formula Master. »
Despite his successful debut Tomas admits that there is still a lot of work ahead of him : « Of course I am happy with how the weekend went, but there is nothing to celebrate yet. On Wednesday I am back in the car again to share a testing day in Brno with our number one driver Norbert Siedler. It’s great that I can learn from one of the fastest drivers of International Formula Master and compare our data. He is our benchmark and he helps me a lot. »
Is the talented teeanger from Prerov disappointed not to compete in the International Formula Master event on his home track in Brno this weekend ? « Not at all, as it was always our plan to start with the national Italian feeder series. For sure I will be in Brno to suppport my team and keep my fingers crossed but my focus is already on my next races in Magione. »
The 4th and 5th round of Italia Formula Master on the « Autodromo dell’Umbria » are scheduled for the 29th of June.
