After a superb drivers presentation in front of a large audience and the grid visit by the VIPs, racing returned to prominence. Felipe Massa, President of the CIK-FIA, launched the two formation laps for the Final of the KZ2 International Super Cup with the green flag. Matteo Vigano (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Adrien Renaudin (Sodi / TM) shared the front row ahead of Daniel Bray (GP / TM) and Emil Skaras (Energy / TM), then Max Tubben (CRG / TM) and Gaetano Gomes ES Di Mauro (CRG / TM).
When the lights went out, the 34 KZ2s jumped into a frantic pace for 23 thrilling laps. Renaudin dropped back behind Vigano who took a few steps ahead. Bray was on the heels of the Frenchman, while Skaras gave in to Gomes. Paul Evrard (Kosmic / Vortex) and Thomas Landais (Alpha / TM) gave up on the first lap, Alexander Schmitz (Tony Kart / Vortex) retired on the next. Bray took 2nd place on the third lap, with Vigano already more than a second ahead. However, his pace was falling rapidly compared to his pursuers. Starting from the back of the grid, Riccardo Longhi (Birel ART / TM) had recovered 14 places in six laps and held the fastest time.
Bray returned to 5 tenths from the leader who reacted, and 1.3” further back Renaudin resisted Gomes without being able to return to the duo. Skaras remained 5th ahead of David Vidales (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Giacomo Pollini (Formula K / TM). The situation changed little at the end of the race, except for Renaudin who was attacked by Gomes. Vidales took the opportunity to pass for 3rd, Gomes was 4th, and Longhi 5th ahead of Renaudin. Vigano won masterfully by 1.4” in front of Bray.
