However Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) took control of the first final for KZ2 in the WSK Master Series Sarno from Ben Hanley (ART GP / TM), while Bas Lammers (Intrepid / TM), starting 6th was taken out. Paolo De Conto (Birel / TM) was installed in the lead from the third lap, but the fight became intense behind him for the places of honour. Hanley was pushed in second position, Ardigo was dislodged on lap 5 with Charles Leclerc (ART GP / TM) third. Setting the fastest lap, Hanley passed his teammate from Monaco three laps later to gain 3rd place.
Meanwhile, Max Verstappen (CRG / TM), who started 18th due to a retirement on the second lap, closed on the front of the pack at high speed. The gaps tightened on the approach to the last lap … De Conto easily won the race, but Leclerc crossed the line in second position followed by Jorrit Pex (CRG / TM), Ardigo dropping to 4th and Hanley 10th ahead of Jaime Alguersuari (Intrepid / TM). Verstappen finished sixth behind Jérémy Iglesias (Lenzo / LKE).
