A wave of panic swept over Varennes during timed practice for KF3. The weather, never radiant, suddenly deteriorated, but the arrival of 42 competitors caused severe congestion in the tyre enclosure. Strangely, the first rush were on track while the latter had not yet begun to mount their tires. The session was delayed from 10 to 15 minutes to compensate, but it did not prevent them being so far off.
However, Esteban Ocon (FA Kart / Vortex) had the fastest time without challenge on his 4th lap, a good 55’059. Paolo Besancenez (Sodi / Parilla) took 2nd with 55’114 ahead of Valentin Moineault (Sodi / Parilla) and the Spaniard Alex Palou (Tony Kart / Vortex), while Simon Tirman (Tony Kart / Vortex) completed the top 5 .
Boccolacci (Birel / BMB) moved to 9th place, Leclerc (Sodi / Parilla) to 12th. Latorre overtook under a yellow flag and the Briton Robbie Gallier was underweight, so they were downgraded.
