Clouds were beginning to build up over the Mika Salo circuit late Saturday morning for the start of the CIK-FIA Academy Trophy, but the track remained dry. In the first session, Suleiman Zanfari and Jiei Okuzumi competed for 1st place with Joseph Taylor in ambush. Xavier Handsaeme was back in 3rd position. Zanfari ended the session in front with a lap of 46”808, Okuzumi followed by 2 thousandths and Handsaeme by 4 thousandths. Taylor and Jorden Dolischka completed the top five.
Francisco Melo D. Porto upped the pace in the second session ahead of Jenny Jakobsen, then Jordan North was 2nd and Dylan Leger 4th. Melo D. Porto took pole position with 46”333, Jakobsen finished 2nd by 0.280” followed by North and Léger, and Ruben Moya Lopez completed the top five.
Melo D. Porto is in pole position, Zanfari 2nd, Jakobsen 3rd, Okuzumi 4th, North 5th and Handsaeme 6th. Léger took 7th.
