The Formula K team have done a good job at the second round of the WSK Super Master Series at Castelletto. On the unusual twisty 7 Laghi circuit, Bas Lammers did well in KZ2 driving a very competitive kart, powered by a highly efficient Parilla engine prepared by RS Falcon (Tec-Sav Engineering) and he almost repeated his success from Sarno.
After the seventh in qualifying the Dutch driver demonstrated his speed in the heats and took a fastest lap and was second fastest twice. Ranked second and third, he crossed the finish line in front in the final heat before suffering a penalty of 5” for touching Marco Ardigo in battle, without any intention of harming his opponent. 8th in the intermediate classification, when he could have been third, Lammers took second position in prefinal-B, with the fastest lap.
The duel for victory in the final resumed, with Bas immediately moving in to the wake of the leader Ardigo. Although he was faster as evidenced by a new fastest lap, he never found the opportunity to overtake his rival despite several attempts, the Castelletto track and the 2014 tyres not facilitating overtaking. Finishing second in these conditions remains a very positive outcome for Formula K who are regularly playing a leading role this season with Lammers, especially as his second position in the championship makes him a serious challenger before the last round in two weeks at Muro Leccese.
