George Russell (OK1) and Lance Stroll (Zanardi) shared the front row in the TaG Junior final in the SuperNats 16 at Las Vegas, for a long 20 laps. Luckily the start went well, with Yurik Carvalho (Italkart) and Dalton Sargeant (Tony Kart) following them. Carvahlo quickly captured second position ahead of Sargeant and Stroll while Dorian Boccolacci (Energy), the only French driver in the race started 21st, then took sixth behind Luke Selliken (Kosmic). Sargeant soon passed into 2nd position ahead of Stroll and Carvahlo. Stroll went on the attack and took 2nd place 1” behind Russell, apparently a strong leader.
Boccolacci still suffered from a lack of speed by about 2/10 against the best. He lost 6th place to the benefit of Colton Herta (DR) on lap 10. Stroll was back quickly onto Russell’s bumper and took command on lap 12 after a beautiful attack. Selliken managed to find the opening on Sargeant on lap 16 to take third place. On the last lap, Herta threatened Sargeant who defended and retained his position in fourth on the line. Stroll won the race 0.9” ahead of Russell, Selliken finished 3rd and won in SKUSA Pro Tour title. Boccolacci lost another 2 places, but was eventually ranked 33rd when we saw him in 10th on the finish line.
