In Varennes, Felix Nilsson performed the most beautiful race in his young career while achieving an important success. Facing the elite of international drivers, the Swedish young driver showed great determination and combined speed and regularity while avoiding all the obstacles of an event of this kind. Not only did he qualify directly for the European KF3 Championship, which will be held in Zuera next July, but he also staged a remarkable recovery during the final race to conclude with a 13th place, moving up 14 places.
Starting far back after his 30th time in time qualifying, Felix began his heats pretty bad with a 28th place. Then the LM Karting team worked twice as hard to give him a top performance kart and Felix climbed straight away to third in the following heat. He then gained other good positions and concluded with a 27th place in the provisional standings: at that point he was already qualified for the European Championship, being among the 34 best drivers.
Galvanised by this result, Felix concluded with an extraordinary final race where he avoided collisions and gained 14 places, to conclude with a 13th place and times that are now very close to those of the fastest. Varennes will definitely be stamped in his memory as a decisive turning point.
