A few drops of rain fell just before the start of the KZ Qualifying but didn’t really change the state of the track at Genk. However, the drivers did for once didn’t wait until the last minute to start, going out for 8 or 9 laps for the more adventurous.
Max Verstappen (CRG / TM) again took pole with a time of 51” 385 ahead of his compatriot Jorrit Pex (CRG / TM), with a gap of 3/100. In the final moments of the session, Jordon Lennox-Lamb (CRG / Parilla) grabbed third place from Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) who managed to break the domination of CRG with his 4th place ahead of Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) and Davide Fore (CRG / TM) 7th. The first classified in their respective teams, Charles Leclerc (ART GP / TM) is sixth, Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex) eighth and Paolo De Conto (Birel / TM) 9th. Bas Lammers (Intrepid / TM) finished 12th, but ended up in the grass with a mechanical problem.
