The first qualifying heat in KF gave a great show at La Conca on Saturday morning in the WSK Master Series. In fact, the two protagonists in qualifying, Armand Convers (Kosmic / Vortex) and Dorian Boccolacci (Energy / TM) took the front row, while the track still had some traces of moisture from the night. Convers started first followed by the Pole Karol Basz (Tony Kart / Vortex), but Boccolacci did not take long to get into second. The leading trio gradually got away. We saw Dorian closer then further away from the leader, sometimes adjusting the panes on the radiator and sometimes the carburation.
He attacked on the last lap by out braking massively at the first hairpin. Alerted by the noise of his opponent, Convers wisely chose to open the door rather than risk a collision. Boccolacci won the race, his first with Energy in this new category, with the fastest lap. He was unanimously praised for his boldness when he arrived in the paddock, with an overshoot of his own to excite the audience, although fair play from his opponent made it easier.
