Sodi triumphed on the world scene ahead of 15 of the greatest international companies. Throughout this season, the British driver Henry Easthope has exploited the top level performances of his Sodi to maintain his supremacy and has finally conquered his reward at the closing round at Bahrain, offering Sodi the much coveted Word Championship Constructors’ title, the only one awarded by the CIK-FIA in 2012.
“The U18 concept is entirely in tune with our vision of competition”, explained Gildas Mérian, president of Sodikart. “We are particularly proud of this CIK official title of World Champion, which we have won thanks to our 100% standard Celesta chassis“.
The suspense was tangible until the very last second. But by crossing the finishing line in 8th place, Henry Easthope (Sodi) snatched the title of U18 World Champion. “I still don’t believe it,” smiled Henry Easthope after the race. “I gave absolutely everything I had all weekend. I was not too successful in the prefinals. I was pushed off the track at the start of the first, and then I suffered in the second. So I only started from 16th position. My machine was running better and better and I began to gain places. On the last lap, I gained two more positions, and that made me champion. But it was a very stressful weekend!”
