The most awaited round of International Karting, the Trofeo Andrea Margutti, is going to take place in about one month. The race reached this year an important anniversary with the 25th edition of this important event that keeps alive the memory of the young driver from Rome passed away in 1990.
The appointment is set for 28-30 March at South Garda of Lonato that will house a race with CIK-FIA International validity open to categories KZ2, KF, KF Junior and the national 60 Mini. All karts will be equipped with Vega tires.
A lot of drivers coming from 20 different countries and several top class works teams are already entered such as Birel, Energy, Ward Racing, Zanardi Strakka, Ricky Flynn, Art Grand Prix, Baby Race, Maranello, CRG Holland, New Force and several more. Category 60 Mini is quite crowded but it will have a cap on the number of entered drivers set to 45. The maximum number of drivers for the other categories is set to 54 for KF, 72 for KF Junior and KZ2.
The Trofeo Andrea Margutti continues to be an important race to all the drivers. Last year 200 drivers came from all Europe, Canada, United States, Singapore and India for this event. Statistically, out of the 26 countries represented to the race, Russia has been the country featuring the highest number of entered drivers (27).
The race programme will begin on Thursday 27 Marchwith free practice that will continue of Friday from 8.00 (GMT+2) and technical scrutineering scheduled from 12.00 to 17.00. Qualifying will take place on Saturday 29th March and will be followed by the heats. Repechage races willopen Sunday 30th March and will lead into the finalists presentation. Prefinals (run on 20laps) will follow and then Finals (25 laps for KF and KZ2, 20 laps for KF Junior), while the Prize Ceremony will close the event.
