Competitors in the Japanese round of World Championship KF1 are not having an easy time. After a shortage of tires for testing, as the number of entries exceeded initial expectations after the regulation changes, they were also faced with significantly more seizes than usual. There is talk of at least twenty, sometimes after only two laps, from drivers who are mostly experienced. Most manufacturers are affected.
The responsibility could be with the fuel, which comes from different local supplier than in the past, as the Panta fuel can not easily be imported into Japan. Not that the fuel is of poor quality, but it comes in two versions, it seems, with different octane levels. KF engines do not seem to appreciate this and the pistons are in short supply at some suppliers. It is difficult for some drivers to run in their engines while also developing the chassis.
