Luca Ghiotto, penalized by 10” in the previous heat and Jarno Hamppi led the pack for this round. Behind them, Gerard Barrabeig and Joel Johansson were serious contenders. It was indeed Barrabeig in the lead on the first lap ahead of Ghiotto and Hamppi, followed by Kanamaru. Karol Basz was very incisive. Ignazio D’Agosto was 13th from Maisano.
Johansson was back in 4th position, Moller Madsen in seventh. Hanley was 9th in front of Michelle Gatting. Barrabeig was widening the gap, Johansson threatened Hamppi for 3rd place. In 12th, Maisano set the fastest time, but had a long space to fill to reach Suarez. Hamppi lost ground. Gatting went on the offensive and passed Moller Madsen in 6th position.
Barrabeig was the undisputed winner of the race before Ghiotto and Johansson. 4th and 5th was Basz and Kanamaru. Maisano in 10th and D’Agosto in 13th may not be qualified.
